What is your return policy?

We are a small business micro-business one woman show and at present do not accept returns. We hope to scale in the future to make returns possible. But for now, please read the Size & Measurement page and pick your size carefully.

If you have an issue with your hat (I really hope you don’t, I want you to love your hat!), please email to discuss a resolution.

Will you make me a hat out of my own vintage towel?

How do I care for my hat?

Your hat has been made from a vintage towel. It is precious but made with love for adventures. Washing will not damage the hat but it will wear down the interfacing (the stuff inside the hat that gives it it’s structure/shape). We recommend spot cleaning the hat for as long as you can.

However, your hat will no doubt accumulate sweat, ocean salt, maybe makeup with use. So when you do need to wash your hat, I’d recommend hand washing in a bucket or the most gentle/hand wash cycle on your washing machine.

After washing your hat, it may be a bit floppy. If you don’t mind a floppy sun hat (my kind of lady!) continue your business as usual. If you want a bit more structure in your hat’s brim, break the iron and with lots of steam iron the brim of the hat, and the crown. For shaping the crown you might want to stuff a wad of another towel inside the hat while ironing.
